BAMASABA NATIONAL STUDENTS ASSOCIATION HOLDS SUCCESSFUL HANDOVER CELEBRATION AT MANAFWA HIGH SCHOOL


Mbale, Uganda — The Bamasaba National Students Association (BANSA) successfully held its handover celebration at Manafwa High School, marking a significant transition in leadership and a renewed commitment to unity among Bamasaba students across institutions in Uganda.

The colorful event brought together students, leaders, elders, and invited guests under the spirit of Butwela, symbolizing unity, continuity, and shared cultural identity among the Bamasaba people. The handover celebration went beyond a leadership transition, serving as a platform to reaffirm cultural pride, student empowerment, and collective responsibility.

The Guest of Honor, Honorable Davis Wakane, graced the occasion and delivered a powerful address. In his remarks, Hon. Wakane applauded the association for its role in uniting Bamasaba students nationwide. He promised to support Bamasaba students’ clubs in different institutions, emphasizing leadership development, mentorship, and cultural engagement.

He also pledged to promote the Bamasaba Anthem, noting that culture remains a vital pillar in shaping disciplined, confident, and united young leaders.

The celebration also marked the official recognition of the newly elected leadership for the 2025/2026 term, tasked with steering the association forward. Among those elected were:

Wanakoli Rogers – President (IUIU Mbale)
Mutonyi Becky – Vice President (Kyambogo University)
Wamukota Aggrey – Prime Minister (Makerere University Business School – MUBS)

The leaders pledged to uphold unity, promote cultural values, and advance the academic and social welfare of Bamasaba students across Uganda.

The handover party was characterized by vibrant cultural expression, meaningful dialogue, and interactions that reflected the true essence of Butwela among Bamasaba students. It highlighted the importance of continuity in leadership and collective participation in shaping the association’s future.

As the new leaders assume office, the Bamasaba National Students Association looks ahead to a productive term focused on student empowerment, cultural promotion, and stronger inter-institutional collaboration. With continued support from leaders such as Hon. Davis Wakane, BANSA is well-positioned for growth and impact.

Long live Bamasaba unity. Long live the Bamasaba National Students Association.
