President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met Nigerian businessman and investor Dr. Abbas A. Waziri, Group Chairman of Resident Group PLC, to discuss investment opportunities and ways of strengthening economic relations between Uganda and Nigeria.
The meeting was held at State House, Entebbe, where President Museveni and Dr. Waziri held discussions on areas of potential investment in Uganda.

Dr. Waziri expressed interest in investing in Uganda, with a particular focus on establishing a cement manufacturing plant and exploring opportunities in the country’s mineral sector.
The proposed investments are expected to contribute to Uganda’s industrial development, create employment opportunities and support the country’s efforts to attract more private-sector investment.
The two sides also discussed opportunities in the agricultural and livestock sectors, particularly the export of Ankole cattle and Ugandan dairy products to the Nigerian market.

Uganda is known for its Ankole cattle, while Nigeria offers a large consumer market that could provide new opportunities for Ugandan livestock and dairy producers.
President Museveni has continued to encourage both local and foreign investors to take advantage of Uganda’s available resources, growing markets and investment opportunities.
The meeting with Dr. Waziri is part of broader efforts to deepen economic cooperation between Uganda and other African countries, attract investment and open new markets for Ugandan products.
The discussions also highlight the potential for stronger business partnerships between Uganda and Nigeria in manufacturing, minerals, livestock and dairy production.
