In a major step forward in his political journey, Mr. Calvin Echodu has been officially nominated to contest for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. The announcement was made today by the Electoral Commission of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
Mr. Echodu warmly welcomed the nomination, expressing deep appreciation for the outpouring of support he has received from across the country—particularly from grassroots communities who have stood firmly behind him.
“I’m honored to receive this nomination,” Mr. Echodu said. “It represents not just a personal opportunity, but a collective call to serve and lead with action, compassion, and accountability. I am ready for the task ahead.”
He emphasized that his campaign is rooted in unity, inclusion, and real impact for the people of Eastern Uganda. He pledged to champion community-driven leadership and focus on delivering results that improve lives.
Mr. Echodu also extended his congratulations to the NRM National Chairman and President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for once again availing himself to lead both the party and the nation. He praised the President’s enduring leadership and encouraged fellow party members to remain united in the vision for continued national development.
Quoting Helen Keller, he remarked, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much,” a message that mirrors the spirit of his campaign: collective strength, shared goals, and people-centered transformation.
With a growing support base and a forward-looking agenda, Calvin Echodu’s nomination brings renewed energy and optimism to the region. As the campaign unfolds, many in Eastern Uganda are watching with hope and anticipation.
