MBALE, UGANDA ,The nation joins the people of Bugisu in mourning the passing of Canon Codvia Wakiro, a distinguished leader, respected churchman, and visionary figure in Uganda’s insurance fraternity.
Canon Wakiro, whose life was defined by service, integrity, and foresight, passed on leaving behind a powerful legacy that spans faith, professional excellence, and cultural institution building.
A Life of Service and Influence
Widely known across Bugisu and beyond, Canon Wakiro was a prominent personality whose voice carried weight in matters of leadership, community development, and institutional growth. Beyond his professional achievements, Canon Codvia Wakiro occupies a permanent place in cultural history as one of the 20 original Promoters of Inzu Ya Masaaba, the cultural institution of the Bamasaaba people.
