NAMCA SPEECH BY HIS HIGHNESS MAYATSA JORAM KHAMBOSON, UMUKUUKA IV OF BAMASAABA, TO THE NAMCA CONVENTION 2026 – UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

By Our Staff Reporter

Mbale-Uganda-Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Distinguished leaders and members of NAMCA,
Esteemed elders and cultural leaders,
Mothers and fathers,
Our energetic youth and beloved children born in the diaspora,
Invited guests and friends of the Bamasaaba people,
Ladies and Gentlemen.
MWANYALA NAABI.

I greet you all in the spirit of unity, peace, love, and the enduring heritage of our forefathers.
Today, I stand before you deeply humbled and profoundly honored to address this historic NAMCA Convention 2026 here in the United States of America. I bring warm greetings, blessings, and solidarity from the Bamasaaba people at home in Uganda, across East Africa, and throughout the world.

On behalf of the Inzu Ya Masaaba Cultural Institution, I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and entire membership of NAMCA for the extraordinary role you continue to play in uniting the Bamasaaba community in the diaspora, especially our brothers and sisters living across North America.
Your dedication, sacrifice, patriotism, and unwavering commitment have preserved not only the connection among our people, but also the dignity, pride, identity, and cultural heritage of the Bamasaaba nation thousands of miles away from home.

Today, we gather not merely to celebrate an organization, but to celebrate a vision.
A vision of togetherness.
A vision of cultural continuity.
A vision where distance does not divide us, but instead strengthens our collective responsibility to protect and preserve who we are.

I particularly commend NAMCA for continuously promoting unity of purpose among Bamasaaba families in North America. In a world increasingly challenged by division, cultural erosion, and individualism, you have courageously chosen the noble path of solidarity, brotherhood, and communal responsibility.

You have reminded the world that the Bamasaaba spirit cannot be broken.
Most importantly, I applaud your efforts in ensuring that the younger generation remains connected to their roots and proud of their identity. Our children born and raised abroad must know where they come from. They must know the language of their ancestors, the wisdom of our elders, the courage of our forefathers, and the beauty of Bamasaaba customs and traditions.

A community that forgets its roots risks losing its future.
Your initiatives in cultural education, mentorship, youth empowerment, family cohesion, and community engagement are therefore not ordinary programs. They are investments in the survival, continuity, and prosperity of the Bamasaaba identity for generations yet unborn.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I also wish to recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements that NAMCA has realized over the years.
We are particularly delighted by the strategic acquisition of land in the upscale city of Mbale intended for the establishment of an Education Resource Centre (ERC). This is a visionary, transformational, and historic initiative with immense potential for our people.

Education remains the greatest equalizer and the strongest foundation for sustainable development. The proposed Education Resource Centre will not only empower our children academically, but will also serve as a hub for research, innovation, cultural preservation, leadership development, mentorship, and global networking for Bamasaaba across the world.

It is my sincere prayer and hope that this monumental project shall be fully implemented and completed successfully. Such a legacy will stand forever as a permanent symbol of NAMCA’s commitment to the advancement and empowerment of our people.

I equally commend the successful introduction of the repatriation insurance initiative for members. This was a thoughtful, compassionate, and visionary innovation that demonstrated the true meaning of community solidarity and mutual care. Its restoration would greatly strengthen support systems for our people both in the diaspora and back home.

In moments of grief and loss, our people should never feel abandoned. This initiative reflected the spirit of Ubuntu — humanity, compassion, and standing together as one family.

Furthermore, we greatly appreciated the successful partnership that secured a 50% Turkish Airlines ticket discount for NAMCA members traveling to and from America. This was a practical and impactful achievement that strengthened family ties, cultural exchange, tourism, and reconnection with home.

Such achievements clearly demonstrate that NAMCA is not merely speaking about unity — NAMCA is implementing unity through meaningful and tangible action.

Distinguished delegates,
As we celebrate these milestones today, we must also look toward the future with renewed determination, vision, and purpose.
I encourage NAMCA and all Bamasaaba professionals in the diaspora to continue innovating and investing in strategic areas such as:
Agriculture and food security,
Environmental conservation and climate resilience,
Trade and investment,
Technology and innovation,
Education and scholarship programs,
Youth empowerment and mentorship,
Healthcare partnerships,

Cultural tourism and heritage preservation.
The Bamasaaba community is richly blessed with talented doctors, engineers, professors, entrepreneurs, farmers, public servants, scholars, and innovators spread across the globe. When we unite our knowledge, resources, expertise, and networks, there is absolutely nothing we cannot achieve.
The future of Bamasaaba must be built collectively.

Let us continue creating strong bridges between home and the diaspora. Let us invest not only in ceremonies and gatherings, but also in institutions, schools, businesses, innovation centers, and transformational projects that uplift our people economically, socially, and culturally.

My dear brothers and sisters,
Take it from me today:
Our unity is sacrosanct.
No one shall ever separate the Bamasaaba people.
No force, no misunderstanding, no political interest, and no external influence shall divide us if we remain firmly anchored in our shared heritage, common destiny, and collective vision.
We are one people.
We are children of one ancestry.
We are bound together by history, culture, blood, and destiny.

And we proudly proclaim this in the sacred names of our great ancestors Masaaba, Mwambu, Mubuya, and Wanale — whose courage, wisdom, resilience, and spirit continue to guide us even today.
May we always honor their legacy through peace, integrity, respect, hard work, and unwavering unity.

As Umukuuka IV, I reaffirm my total and unwavering commitment to serving all Bamasaaba people wherever they may be across the world. Whether in Uganda, Kenya, the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, or elsewhere, you remain an inseparable part of the Bamasaaba family.
Your successes are our successes.
Your struggles are our struggles.
Your aspirations are our collective aspirations.
And your future is the future of the entire Bamasaaba nation.

I therefore call upon all Bamasaaba in North America to continue supporting NAMCA, supporting one another, and supporting the Inzu Ya Masaaba Cultural Institution.
Together, we shall preserve our identity.
Together, we shall empower future generations.
Together, we shall strengthen our unity.
Together, we shall build a stronger, more prosperous, and globally respected Bamasaaba nation.
May God bless NAMCA.
May God bless all Bamasaaba in the diaspora.
May God bless Inzu Ya Masaaba.
And may God bless our beloved people everywhere.
MWANYALA NAABI.
I thank you all.
