
Deputy Prime Minister of the Umukuuka wa Bugisu, Dr. Clet W. Masiga,

Mbale, Uganda – February 18, 2026, The Deputy Prime Minister of the Umukuuka wa Bugisu, Dr. Clet W. Masiga, has congratulated the Prime Minister of the Inzu ya Masaaba Cultural Institution, the Rt. Hon. Nabutele Mathias, upon his appointment to the esteemed position.

In his congratulatory message,Dr. Masiga commended Rt. Hon. Nabutele Mathias for his dedication, commitment, and continued service to the Masaaba cultural heritage. He noted that the appointment is a testament to Nabutele’s proven leadership, integrity, and passion for the unity and progress of the Masaaba people.

Dr. Masiga expressed confidence that Rt. Hon. Nabutele Mathias will execute his duties with wisdom, diligence, and humility, and that his tenure will strengthen institutional structures, promote cultural values, and enhance unity among the people of Bugisu and the Masaaba community at large.
He further wished him success and God’s guidance as he assumes the important responsibility of serving as Prime Minister, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among cultural leaders for the preservation and advancement of Masaaba traditions and identity.
However, Dr. Masiga clarified that he serves as Deputy Prime Minister under His Majesty Jude Mike Mudoma in the Bugisu cultural leadership, and reaffirmed his loyalty and service to his King and the institution he represents, while extending goodwill and personal congratulations to Rt. Hon. Nabutele Mathias.
In his response, Rt. Hon. Nabutele Mathias reaffirmed that allegiance to any cultural leader or institution is a personal decision protected by law and guided by individual conscience. He respected Dr. Masiga’s position and wished him success in his endeavors as he serves where he has chosen.
